Mark Hatfield, MD - FACS
Dr. Hatfield received his M.D. from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV. Ophthalmology residency was completed at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. Vitreoretinal Fellowship training under the direction of Dr. Kirk Packo and Dr. David Orth was completed at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes in Chicago.
Dr. Hatfield is a Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since October 1995. A native of Southern, WV, he founded the practice in 1988.
Michael P. Varley, MD - FACS
Dr. Varley received his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. Ophthalmology residency was completed at the University Hospitals in Cleveland. Vitreoretinal Fellowship training was completed at Northwestern Memorial Hospitals in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Varley is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since October 2000. He joined the practice in 1991.
Robert F. Dundervill, III, MD - FACS
Dr. Dundervill received his M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia. Ophthalmology residency was completed at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, TN. Vitreoretinal Fellowship training was completed at Retina and Vitreous Associates of Kentucky in Lexington.
Dr. Dundervill is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since October 1998. He joined the practice in 1995.
David J. Hunt, MD
Dr. Hunt received his M.D. from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV. Ophthalmology residency was completed at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. Vitreoretinal Fellowship training was completed at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Abraham S. Mitias, MD - FACS
Dr. Mitias, a native of West Virginia, received his M.D. from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV.
Ophthalmology residency and Vitreoretinal Fellowship training was completed at Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Mitias is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since October 2009. He joined the practice in August 2007.
Scott C. Jamerson, MD
Dr. Jamerson, a native of West Virginia, received his M.D. from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV. Ophthalmology residency was completed at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Vitreoretinal Fellowship training was completed at Retina Specialists of Ohio in Cleveland, OH.
Dr. Jamerson is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He joined the practice in June 2011.
K. Ellen Frank, MD
Dr. Frank, a native of WV, received her M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Ophthalmology residency was completed at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital (now MetroHealth) and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
She was an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University and taught residents there. Dr. Frank is Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
She joined the practice in October 2011 in order to continue the practice of medicine on a part time basis, primarily scheduling patients in the Beckley and Charleston offices.
